Understanding the "Artist" - Striving Styles Lecture Series
The Striving Styles System, an evolution of Jung’s Psychological Type, is an easy, yet profound way of understanding the nature of different personalities and the predominant need that must be met for each Style.
Artist Style people have a predominant Striving to be Creative. They seek the authentic expression of their creativity in all they do. Independent, individualistic, and intuitive, they seek beauty, originality, and depth in all they do. The nature of how creativity is expressed is irrelevant; an architect can be as much of an artist as a dancer or chef. Often knowing early in life that they have a unique talent or gift, it becomes their vocation, and they will work in a variety of jobs to support themselves while working at their craft in their spare time. They are also found in jobs or careers within liberal organizations, where their creative abilities, sense of individuality and uniqueness is recognized, appreciated and\or tolerated.
The need to create as an expression of one’s own nature is a driving force in the Artist Striving Style. So profound is the need for authentic expression, that they will inadvertently throw their personal lives and the people in them into chaos, drama and despair. For those who recognize the unique talents and gifts of these people and who want to support them, it can be a wild and emotional ride.
Come gain a better understanding of how you can support the Artist Striving Style while getting insight into your own Style.
The Striving Styles System, an evolution of Jung’s Psychological Type, is an easy, yet profound way of understanding the nature of different personalities and the predominant need that must be met for each Style. The predominant need must be satisfied and it drives behaviour and ensures psychological balance. The system focuses on the eight distinct needs of personality: how they are prioritized, how each Style acts when self-actualizing and how behavior changes when they are being self-protective.
